There are rare Hermès leathers.
Then there's Volynka.
Also known as Russian Leather, Volynka is one of the Maison's most fascinating materials—not just because of how seldom it appears, but because of what makes it instantly recognizable. Its distinctive cross-hatched grain, subtle waxed finish, and unmistakable leather aroma have earned it something of a cult following among seasoned Hermès collectors.
And yes... we've been lucky enough to have one in our boutique before.
The Leather You Never Forget
Ask anyone who's handled Volynka in person what they remember most, and the answer usually isn't the color or even the texture.

Volynka carries a rich, unmistakable leather scent unlike anything else in the Hermès library. The New HAC That Turned Heads
For the Men's Spring/Summer 2027 presentation, Hermès unveiled a new HAC crafted entirely from Volynka leather in a rich chocolate brown tone reminiscent of Noisette, paired with Palladium hardware.
The simplicity of the design allows the leather to become the star.
No exotic skins.
No elaborate embroidery.
No intricate appliqué.
Just an exceptionally rare leather showcased on one of Hermès' oldest and most iconic silhouettes.
Sometimes that's all it takes.
